Khurram Agha
Khurram Agha is a seasoned technology leader with demonstrated success in both corporate and startup worlds.
Khurram graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 2001. He then completed an MBA from The Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with a focus on entrepreneurship and investment management.
Khurram worked at Microsoft Corporation for 17 years. He led the development teams for Operating Systems and Networking technologies in various groups from Windows CE to Windows Phone. He was the engineering director for Windows Update and HoloLens groups, as well as the group engineering director for Azure Capacity Management. He subsequently worked for two years at Oracle as Senior Director of Engineering, and led the migration of Oracle’s multi-billion dollar fusion applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Khurram then switched careers to follow his passion for entrepreneurship and Islamic Finance. He is passionate about improving financial inclusion for everyone, understanding the common financial problems faced by Muslims across the world and creating modern, Islamically compliant, FinTech solutions. His startup, Aghaz Investments, is the first goal-based wealth management offering for Muslims in the USA. Aghaz launched in 2021 and has thousands of customers looking to plan, save and invest according to their beliefs. Aghaz was awarded the top global Islamic startup in December 2021 in Dubai by Refinitiv and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, as well as being recognized as one of the top global portfolio company of Founder Institute.
Khurram is originally from Lahore, Pakistan and now resides with his family in Frisco, TX.
